Built in 1977, Charlottetown Terrace is located at 1000 Baxter Street south of the John Belk Freeway (I-277). Strawn Master Plan
The site consists of 16.67 acres off of South Blvd. in the the Dilworth community. It contains three basic land uses: a 190-unit multifamily tower that houses seniors, 121 cottage units that contain housing for both able-bodied seniors and seniors with disabilities, and the offices for the Charlotte Housing Authority. This corridor is experiencing huge growth and revitalization because of its proximity to downtown Charlotte and the recently opened light-rail line.

Built in 1970, Strawn Tower is located at 1225 S. Caldwell Street, on the Charlotte Housing Authority corporate campus on South Boulevard in the historic Dilworth Neighborhood. Boulevard Homes HOPE VI
The Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA) has been awarded a $20.9 million in federal HOPE VI grant monies for the redevelopment of its Boulevard Homes property. The envisioned redevelopment represents a unique partnership among CHA, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and several service providers to create an education-centered mixed-income community.
